Group Rides

Cycling Concepts Outdoor Group Rides - April through October 2017.

This year we are hosting weekly road rides on Tuesday and Wednesday Evenings and also on Saturday mornings.  Additional rides will pop up in the woods, on the bike paths, etc. Details will appear on Facebook and in our E-Newsletter.
Tuesday Evening Rides - 6pm from our shop in Glastonbury
Our Tuesday rides have a new format this year.  They will focus on pace line skills and etiquette. These rides are for beginning or experienced riders who want  develop their riding skills. Questions?  Call Keith at 860-633-3444.
  • Level 1: expect to ride 10 to 20 miles on the road while practicing pace line rotations and formations
  • Level 2:  expect to ride 20 to 30 miles on the road while practicing more advanced pace line rotations and formations
  • Remember, these rides are about  learning to ride together
 
Wednesday Evening Rides - 6pm from our shop in Glastonbury
Our Wednesday rides cater to more rider levels, from "C" riders to "A" riders. These are fun rides with shop and team riders to offer support.  We encourage all riders to ride safely and courteously and to obey all laws that apply to cyclists on the road. Most of all we encourage all riders to have a challenging and enjoyable ride. Questions?  Call Keith at 860-633-3444.
  • "C Group" riding 10 - 12 mph; distance 12 to 20 miles depending on daylight
  • "C Plus Group" riding 12 - 14 mph; distance 15 to 20 miles depending on daylight
  • "B Group" riding 14 - 16 mph; distance 20 to 30 miles depending on daylight
  • "B Plus" riding 16 - 18 mph; distance 25 to 40 miles depending on daylight
  • "A Group" riding 18- 22 mph; distance 30 to 45 miles depending on daylight
 
What to Bring to All Rides
  • Road bike in good condition
  • Helmet
  • Flat repair kit
  • Front and rear lights (10% off in the shop)
  • Drink and energy snack

2017 Indoor Cycling at Cycling Concepts

Become a stronger cyclist then you ever thought possible by coming to our Tuesday and Wednesday Indoor Cycling sessions. We base build, we hill climb, and we do time trials and intervals. It's a motivating, social environment just like our outdoor rides. Make the commitment to participate at least once a week and you'll have your best cycling season ever.

When & Where

What to bring

  • Bike, trainer, riser block and towel.
  • Rental trainers cost $10 per session or $75 for the season.
  • Drink and energy snack.
  • Bike and trainer storage are available.

How fast and far?

  • We ride for about 1.5 - 2 hours.
  • You can ride as easy or hard as you like - no one gets dropped.

Smart Trainers - New for 2017

  • We have four Cycleops Hammer and Magnus smart trainers available for you to experience complete with Cycleops Virtual Training Software. Want to ride the Alps or the Rockies with realistic resistance and scenery? Easy. Want to train to a Sufferfest video with a synched resistance profile? Also easy. These are available on a first come first serve basis so call ahead. We'll be happy to show you how to use this effective new technology.
